Foreign Minister Calls for Action from Iran, Expresses Regret over Death of Pakistani Citizens

Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani has expressed sadness and concern about the unfortunate loss of nine Pakistanis in Iran. He has requested Iran to take appropriate action against the individuals responsible for this incident.

The caretaker foreign minister expressed his belief that this attack is an attempt by common enemies to harm the relationship between Pakistan and Iran. He called on the Iranian government to take action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office strongly condemned the horrific and despicable incident in Sarawan. They emphasized the need for an immediate investigation and holding the individuals involved accountable. The authorities are fully aware of the seriousness of the situation and are taking necessary measures.

Yesterday, in the city of Sarawan, located in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province near the Pakistani border, unidentified armed individuals shot and killed nine Pakistani workers. A local Baloch rights group reported that three more people were injured in the incident. The deceased and injured were Pakistani laborers who worked and resided in the area.

Among the victims, five individuals, including two brothers, hailed from Alipur tehsil of Muzaffargarh, while two laborers were from Galewal area of Lodhran.

It is worth noting that the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Iran were just recently fully restored following past tensions.
